Our World With Mom-Akunjeri Victoria Nwasobi (Odoziaku) Ochijeh, Nee Nduka
(July 17, 1928-July 14, 2010)
"A world without parents at it's foundation is just like a bucket with a hole in the bottom." Our world is a body of people who have done great things together in the past and who hope to do great things together in the future.
Mom hails from Okoma's family in Umuayata Village in Oguta where there are lots of love amongst them. This love lies at the core of her family value system and was passed down from Adobi to the family of my late father Ogbuagu Goodway Ochijeh. You both were remarkable good parents. You laid foundation of love in our lives. This is a polygamous family where love is key.
Mom, we are indeed grateful for your tireless efforts to keep the family united and peaceful. We are also grateful for your immense contribution to keep our father's flag flying and the candle burning.
Mom, you did not receive formal education but you sure had a bunch of knowledge on how to do many things. You were always by us both in sickness and health. You taught us to love, share with our brothers and sisters and also with the needy. You could not eat until we have eaten with satisfaction.
Mama, your passing has been painful. We will miss your honesty, good understanding, patience and endurance. You were fondly called "Ine-Ine" by all the children in the house and the neighborhood. You were a model of what a mother should be. We would not trade you for another mother. You were a great woman. God will be with you until we meet to path no more. Adieu mama.
Your Son, Oliver Ochije
