"Onward to Autumn Eternal"

Dedicated, in Tribute to My Dear Friend Josie, on the 18th of March, 2012

Ode to an Autumn Girl

She is an Autumn girl, opulently adorned

In the Vibrant colors of the harvest;

Her ardent mind is at ease, for she stays Strong in,

And assured of, the Love of Christ Jesus.

Her countenance is Fair and Serene,

Like a lofty swirl of blazing golden leaves, blown about

On a crisp, breezy Fall morning.

She strives to offer, with all her Earthly best,

Ample doses of Christian Kindness, Love, and Understanding

Wherever she lightly steps, which often far

Eclipses her naturally stunning physical grace.

She does not pursue the Vanities of the World; rather,

She deftly pushes them aside, and Meekly seeks out

A humble Servant’s Life, one in which she thrives.

She submissively, selflessly worships Christ, her Savior.

One fresh Spring day, as the

Ripeness of her years nears its perfect crown,

She sets out to fondly and thoughtfully pack

Her lifetime of Precious Earthly memories

Of her family and friends of this slumbering world, and

Begins to prepare for her quickening journey, to Paradise.

When that Appointed Dawn draws near,

She heroically efforts to voice her farewells temporal,

And soon, feeling her life in mortal flux, she quietly prays her last

Earnest Prayer, appealing to God for His Helping Hand, just as Jesus once did.

As she slips towards the close of her Life Terrene, the beautiful spectacle

That is Spring seems to ebb away during the moment of her Passing.

After closing her eyes - for just a fleeting second, it doth seem,

Her vision knows a rebirth, and she finds her Fervid Soul caught up

In an Illumined whirlwind, effortlessly carried Upward to the

Waiting arms of an Angel, who shimmers in the Celestial starlight.

She gazes upon a band of glistening Heralds, each who brings forth a

Newly surrendered Soul. As each angelic courier climbs a spiral ladder,

Spun of Crystalline silver-gold and white Alabaster, they move onward,

In Ascent Elysian, so they may gaze upon the Majesty of the Glorious King.

Her reawakened senses fill up with Ecstasy Ethereal, as she

Blissfully overflows with the warm, quenching flow of the Creator.

Upon hearing the Abiding Voice, who imparts the full Revelation of God’s Plan,

She peacefully stirs and finds her own footing, now freshly abiding

In her Glorified body, and dares to make her way

Up that Exquisite lattice, to her new Celestial home,

Where she will be, for Now and Always, in the Ever-Loving Hands of Christ.

She was an Autumn Girl; what dispirit irony that our Lord

Should take my dear, loving friend in her Harvest years,

For her modest life seemed of such import to a sparse few here on Earth.

But, now as a denizen of the Assembly of the Blessed,

She does not dally long on latent thoughts of her life on earth,

For she knows what shortly lies ahead for her precious loved ones,

Where mortal imagination shall reverently bow before the Station of Life Eternal.

Hence she waits on the Lord with indescribable Delight.

Dedicated to the Memory of Josie, on the Twenty-First Day of March, 2012.

"Heart's Cry"

Lyrics

This is my heart's cry

I want to know the One who saved me and gave me life

This is my heart's cry to be so close to Him

That all my life becomes a testimony of my Savior's grace and love

This is my heart's cry

This is my heart's cry

Much more than just a great desire, it's like a fire in me

I hear my heart cry each time I think about the cross where Jesus died

The cross should have been mine but His love broke through time

And heard my heart's cry, He heard my heart's cry

Now every other hope and dream is lost inside of this one thing

To know the One who died for me and live my life for Jesus Christ

Is my heart's cry

So let my life become a testimony of my Savior's grace and love

Oh, this is my heart's cry

To stand before the Father one day

And hear Him say, "Well done!"

This is my heart's cry

"Wind Beneath My Wings"

"Wind Beneath My Wings"

Lyrics

It must have been cold there in my shadow,

to never have sunlight on your face.

You were content to let me shine, that's your way,

you always walked a step behind.

So I was the one with all the glory,

while you were the one with all the strength.

A beautiful face without a name -- for so long,

a beautiful smile to hide the pain.

Did you ever know that you're my hero,

and ev'rything I would like to be?

I can fly higher than an eagle,

'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.

It might have appeared to go unnoticed,

but I've got it all here in my heart.

I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it,

I would be nothing with out you.

Did you ever know that you're my hero,

and ev'rything I would like to be?

I can fly higher than an eagle,

'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.

Fly, fly, fly away,

you let me fly so high.

Oh, fly, fly,

so high against the sky, so high I almost touch the sky...

Thank you, thank you, thank God for you,

the wind beneath my wings.
