SAMPSON, Alfred J. “Al” of Westford, MA, passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, November 7, 2015, at the age of 89 in the loving company of his cherished family. Al proudly served his country in the Marine Corps and was stationed in the Philippines. He worked for many years as a parts manager in various car dealerships. Al will always be remembered for his kind heart and generous spirit. He loved to play cards and Bingo, was an avid Patriots fan, and enjoyed trips to casinos. Al is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Marie T. (Lemmo) Sampson, and their children, Denise and her husband Michael McEntee, Susan and her husband Ralph Kittredge, Paul and his wife Trish, Stephen and his wife Kristine, James, and Jacqueline, as well as 15 grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, and a great-grandson. Al is also survived by his sister Helen and her husband Mark DeLorne; a niece, Theresa and her husband Lawrence Tanner. He was predeceased by his infant son John, as well as by his sister Alice Sampson, his brother Francis, and his parents, Lena and Remy. Al's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, 115 Middlesex Street, North Chelmsford, MA, on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 12:00 P.M. To honor the memory of his giving nature, contributions may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
