I found out about Denny Doherty's death last year. I remember him as the Harbor Master. I didn't know he was a member of the Mamas and Papas until last year. His death has saddened as well as shocked me. We also share something: my dad's father was born in Canada.

oh Denny! I had know idea of your passing, someone helped me to look u up and to my sadness heard the news of your death. Denny and I were very close friends and lived next to each other in Appian Way. He showded up at my parents home in Atherton periodlcally with Joe his bodyguard. Denny . . . what to say. You were such a catalyst in my life. Many firsts with you. I was with you and Cass and John and Zally in Georgetown, Washington DC in early 60's.
