Dollie Jean Potts of Chattanooga TN. went to be with her Lord Jesus on Thursday, February 12th. 2015.She was welcomed into heaven by her parents Jess & Norma Adkins, George Hickman and Thomas Potts.Dollie was a long time member of Hickory Valley Christian and Bayside Baptist Churches in Chattanooga TN. A long time resident of East Ridge, Dollie resided at her home on Bennett rd. for over twenty years. She was a friend of several Police and firefighter organizations where she would regularly take treats to our friends at the East Ridge Police and Fire Department. Dollie was a very patriotic American, proudly supporting the men and women of our armed forces. She was a retired factory worker after 25 years of service with the Planters/life savers company in Chattanooga. Later pursuing a career as a security guard at several local Chattanooga businesses. Her love of muscle cars earned her the nick name of "Hot rod granny" after receiving her first speeding ticket at the age of 65. She had a fond love for music, quite often you could catch her singing classic hymns, or jukebox rock and roll songs. There will be a cremation service with Serenity funeral home in cleveland TN., followed by interment at the Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga. A memorial service to celebrate the life and times of Dollie Potts will be held at Hickory Valley Christian Church on Shallowford rd. Saturday, Feb. 21st. times to be announced.
