I came to buy a smile today;
But just a single smile,
The smallest one upon your face;
Will suit me just as well.
The one that no one else would miss;
It shone so very small,
I'm pleading at the counter --Sir;
Could you afford to sell?
Emily Dickinson ( 1830--1886 )
Faith and I were just kids when she died( (10 years old ).She had leukemia and back then the survival rate was very low. I don't remember too many details about her expect for certain pictures of her etched in my mind that I can see over and over again.Faith was pivotal in making me understand how important it is to enjoy the moment now, not to wait because the moment right now is the moment that you might make a memory out of.
Faith and I grew up in North Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin and it was a great place to live.We went to Presentation grade school which was all catholic run and despite what people think of catholic schools, it was a near perfect school with high academics and excellent teachers.
Faith loved being a Girl Scout. She seemed to be very proud when she wore her Girl Scout uniform. There were(and still are) a lot of fundraisers and activities that she partcipated in.
These are the words that I use to describe Faith---Friend, Toughest girl I have ever met, Christian, All Personality, Humorous, Brave, and Smart.
Faith had a great personality and was excellent at making friends. She had all of this positive energy.
This is for Faith---I miss her.
I remember in the bible when the disciples asked Jesus what the greatest of the commandments were and his reply was No.1," Love your God with your whole heart, soul and mind" --No.2" Love thy neighbor as thyself, and if you follow these two commandments, the rest will fall into place". These are the commandments that you could see in Faith. It showed in the way she talked and how she genuinely liked people.
I thank God each time I remember you......Phillipians 1-3
