Your sister, Rachel, meet Irvin Schroeder's yesterday at the Medical Center, and told Esther about Gene's passing. Aldena Kliewer Hershberger is in Buhler right now, so I was able to pass the news on to her. Her mother had knee surgery and is coming home from the hospital this afternoon and Aldena will be here about 2 weeks. I met Gene circa 1990 through our mutual friend Tom Atkinson.I became the family mechanic until moving in 2005.Gene related to me in his typical humorous way that he learned early that he was somewhat mechanically challenged by working in his father's service station.I greatly admired Gene's clear thinking on religion and politics.We had many fun conversations.I'm glad he didn't hear some of the ones I had with the cars he drove. Gene & Sara came into my life many years ago. As the years past they always remained constant in their love, devotion and respect toward one another, they really inspired me. One day I asked Sara a question in my mother in laws kitchen and with out missing a beat she witnessed to me and I recieved Christ in my life that day. Thank you, Sara. I had the privilege of meeting Gene last spring during our Juice Plus+ leadership conference. Gene and Sara invited our team over to their home for dinner and Gene went out of his way to provide transportation for all of us. I had the opportunity to sit in the front seat as Gene drove. It was not a long journey but long enough to see that Gene had an incredible faith and a genuine servant's heart. That will be sorely missed for sure. I had the privilege of meeting Gene last spring in Phoenix during our Juice Plus+ leadership conference. Our team was invited to Gene and Sara's for dinner. Gene went out of his way to make sure all of us had rides and he played chauffeur for many of us. I had opportunity to sit in the front seat as Gene drove and I learned a lot about Gene in a short time. I saw a genuine servant's heart. He was kind to a fault. Gene was always one of those rare individuals that you knew loved God by simply spending a few moments with him. He lived the love of Jesus everyday and I will be a better Christian if I live my life like Gene.

We were so very fortunate to have known Gene for a good number of years and will sorely miss his humor and his encouragement to stay in God's word. But we are also excited to know that he is with his Savior and that we will see him again in the future.
