My Uncle Homer was very special to me. When I was younger he always did things to tease me and make me laugh. I remember him telling me he really liked my pretty pink dress when I was just a kid, maybe 8 or 9. It tickled me pink since he was blind and I never could figure out how he knew what color my dress was. In the last few years of his life, he would sometimes call me out of the blue and we would have a wonderful, long talk about our Lord and Savior. He was such an inspiration to me. ...» read more

First. I want to thank my sister for putting together this beautiful and meaningful memorial for our dad, and all the time it must of taken her to do so. "Thank you Rita, I love you!" And then I'd like to say thanks to all my dad's friends and relatives that have left the thoughts and feelings for him here at this memorial. It means a whole lot to me to hear all your thoughts and feelings concerning our dad, and I'm sure I can speak for my siblings too when I say this. Again, thank you ever ...» read more

My cousin Homer was a gift from God for all of us. He and Georgetta seemed so “attuned” to one another. My mother was not easily impressed, but I recall how approvingly she spoke of Homer’s choice of a lifetime partner. Whenever Homer came it was time for the upright to be tuned. He was a superb technician and made that old piano sound like a Steinway. When I was a much...» read more

I found this memorial site this morning, March 16, 2009. Uncle Homer's memorial that his children gave for him was such a beautiful tribute to him. Deanna, Jeff, Rita and Nathan, know how much all the family loved him, but I want to briefly put in writing how special he was to me. When he and Aunt Georgetta came to San Diego, I had just accepted the Lord as my saviour. He was the youth minister and assistant Pastor of our Church in Chula Vista and encouraged me to grow in the Lord. Memori...» read more
