Colonel Jack Okun, USAF (Retired) age 86. June 28, 1920 - April 30, 2007

Colonel Jack Okun was a former WWII fighter pilot with The Flying Tigers, 14th Air Force, Chinese American Composite Wing. He had the honor of serving under the command of Lieutenant General Claire Lee Chennault, commander of the allied air forces in the far east during WWII.

Colonel Okun was a modest hero, with an iron will, who dedicated more than 25 years of his life to serve his country in military active duty and Air Force Reserve service. Even during his detainment in a POW camp during WWII his spirit refused to be broken. He was faced with multiple health challenges throughout his lifetime which he continually survived, against all odds.

Jack Okun, when asked, championed many people's causes and would defend the rights of family members and friends with a fierce tenacity. He was a very dedicated family man and always made time for his wife, children, grand-children, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Colonel Jack was married for 62 years to his cherished wife, Marcella "Marcy." He was the beloved Father of Lisa Robyn, Kaila Mindy and preceded in death by son Jeffrey Bruce. Jack was also a much loved and appreciated Grandfather of Ian, Stephanie, Samantha, Alexandra and Jacqueline, Big Brother of Myrna and Freyda, Loving Uncle, Dedicated Patriot and Dear Friend to Many. "Our Champion and Hero, Forever in Our Hearts"
