Obituary for Jefferson Lam

Our beloved son, Jefferson was diagnosed with brain tumor (brainstem glioma) after returning from his summer holiday in Europe, 2006.  The left side of his body had been gradually deteriorating since the end of July.

For the past eight months or so, we have done our very best to seek medical advice from all over the world with the help of our friends. Without other options, our son had brain surgery twice, radiotherapy and two kinds of chemotherapy as well as many different kinds of Chinese herbal tea and alternative treatments.

Although he enjoyed his school life very much till December of last year, as parents, we feel guilty because we were not able to nurture him and give him good health and a bountiful life. However, he never said a single word to blame us even though we knew he was suffering a lot.

His courage in facing reality and his determination to fight the deadly disease proved that he was much stronger than his parents. He fought all the way up to his last heartbeat and breath while we collapsed after realizing that his disease was incurable. We want to thank the Lord for He has comforted us during this difficult time.  We know that Jesus is taking good care of Jefferson and ultimately we shall meet him again in heaven.

In the meantime, his smiling face is always on our minds!
