Kelsey Smith Briggs

My granddaughter Kelsey was born after her parents were divorced.  I wondered why this child would be put on this earth after the two people who were not meant to be together had already gone their separate ways.  I knew she had a purpose, but what could it be?

When my son was called to active duty and sent to Iraq I was sure that I knew.  God was giving Kelsey to us because her father was not coming home. I was wrong.  Kelsey was the one who did not make it.  She died just days before her dad was to return.  After nine months of abuse, she joined the other little angels in Heaven.  It was then that I knew her purpose...

This site is dedicated to the memory of Kelsey Briggs, a beautiful little girl whose life was tragically cut short by violent abuse.  Her father's family is sponsoring and updating this website for three reasons:

  • to keep her memory alive;
  • to seek justice for her killer(s);
  • to raise public awareness about the failures of the Oklahoma child protective agencies so that this never happens again.

Kelsey touched many lives during her brief time here among us, and we hope that in death she will touch many more.

My deepest symapthys in your loss times like this make us question why were we given them only to be snatched away so soon.There is never a easy answer to that only that its better to have loved than to never have loved at all and to know theyre now at peace
