In Memory Of Peter Boyle

Peter Boyle, best known from his role as the grumpy father of Raymond in the hit American TV series "Everybody Loves Raymond" (1996-2005), passed away in hospital with his family by his side at the age of 71.

In 1990, Boyle suffered a mild stroke, and years later had a heart attack during the making of "Everyone Loves Raymond" (1999). After a short recovery period, he was back on set within a matter of weeks. Despite receiving many Emmy nominations for his Best Supporting Actor role, Peter never actually claimed title of an Emmy Award.

Ray Romano, star of "Everybody Loves Raymond", said "I am deeply saddened by the passing of Peter Boyle". Romano added that "He gave me great advice, he always made me laugh, and the way he connected with everyone around him amazed me. The fact that he could play a convincing curmudgeon on the show, but in reality be such a compassionate and thoughtful person, is a true testament to his talent".
