In Memory Of Rita Colon (née Ortiz)
What a beautiful day it was when you went to those heavenly gates No more pain and suffering. We know you were eager and very happy to go. The smile on your face and the peace you showed was priceless. The lord came that morning to let us know he was here with open arms awaiting for your arrival. All the family came that day to say the things we needed to let you know it was ok. It was a blessing in so many ways. We loved you and held your hand until it was time to go. Oh... those moments went by so fast.We wanted to know if you wanted to go see Our Dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, And celebrate New Years Day with those who you have missed for so many years. And have the most glorious celebration and bringing in the New Year. Oh! We said what a glorious gift that would be and even though your eyes were closed, And you could not speak, that expression of shock and awe were all over your face. Then we knew you were ready. As the minutes passed and relief showed on your face, your breathing slowed and peace came over your face. We knew you had gone to those Heavenly Gates to the Grandest Celebration of all. We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name, In life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide, And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again
