My condolences to Ruth Brown's family and friends. I just wanted to share a nice memory that I have of my Dad's passion for Ruth's music as we were growing up. He passed away in July of 2007 at age 83. He loved listening to Ruth records. He would play his favorite (Fever) so much that my Mom would finally smash the record. (my Dad had a crush on her) Daddy would buy another, not right away, because money was very tight in those days. To this day, hearing her name or her songs makes us smile. Thank God for her legacy.
