MEMORIAL INFORMATION

It is with great sadness that we inform you that Tim Lind, the son of Dwight Lind and the late Lynne Lind was found dead in his apartment in Sierra Vista, Arizona, the afternoon of Thursday, October 29, 2009.  Tim was 36 years old.

Tim’s father and late mother had been missionaries for many years with HCJB Global in Ecuador, Puerto Rico, and in recent years on loan to World Radio Network (WRN), first at WRN headquarters in Pharr, Texas, and more recently at WRN’s Western Regional Office in Sierra Vista, Arizona.  Tim lived in a group house a few miles from his parents’ home.

Tim was born in Quito, Ecuador, on August 13, 1973.  He attended the Alliance Academy for all of his primary schooling and was very active in band, choir, and music groups.  He played goalie on the soccer team.  Tim attended the University of Pennsylvania for two and a half years.  He also attended other universities in his goal to graduate from college.

For the last 15 years Tim suffered with mental illness.  He kept his humor and sharp wit in both Spanish and English all through the hard times.  Tim has now joined his mother, Lynne, in heaven.  It is his gain and our loss.  He is survived by his father Dwight, step-mom Susie, his sister Nancy and her husband Rich and their children Richie and Katie Lynne, and his brother Dan and his wife Sara and many friends & relatives who have laughed with, cried and prayed for Tim.

11 Feb 2011 – Yuji Yoshiie from USA
I've hanged out with Tim quite a lot through out elementary school, middle school, high school, and college, playing soccer and tennis, drawing doodles, doing math, creating secret codes, repelling, growing up together, and always having fun. I miss you and talk about you all the time. I thank you so much for your friendship and memories.

17 Feb 2010 – phil moore from ireland
My heart goes out to all the family now and over the coming years. racketpong, tennis on saturdays, endless swimming fun, hanging on to the vespa up calle brazil, la liga, quinceaneras, and so much more. God knows the plans for each of us and I know I will see you in heaven one day. Bless His name.

6 Dec 2009 – Tim and Jan Cooper from Ecuador
Our sympathy and prayers for Dwight and Susie from a couple of "old" friends from Quito days.

28 Nov 2009 – Stephen Welty from USA
I am saddened by the news of the passing of a Tim Lind. We were good friends in primary school and practiced trumpet together frequently. We were also good friends in high school and spent a great deal of time together in band and choir trips across Ecuador. We played soccer together for many years. When we parted Ecuador we even met up in places such as the University of Pennsylvania. I thank God for such a constant and loyal friend and for all the memories we shared.

26 Nov 2009 – David Frost from Charlotte
It was on the soccer field that Tim and I became friends. He always inspired me to play my best. I remember one incredible save in particular where Tim was fully stretched out parallel, three feet off of the ground. I thought I was watching a professional game, truly amazing. Until we meet again buddy!

25 Nov 2009 – Casey from Sierra Vista AZ
Mr. Lind, Dan, and Nancy. I am sorry for your loss, but we do not grieve like those who have no hope. We'll see Tim again, and when that day comes, it will be a glorious reunion. God bless.

25 Nov 2009 – Ellen Contopidis from Rochester, NY
Dwight, Nancy, Dan and all the newer members of the family I have yet to meet, My heart aches for you and the loss, So many sweet memories of you all as neighbors up stairs. Especially the joy Tim had whenever Judy and I asked him to pull in the car for the night. I trust God provides many similar memories of comfort for all of you. Ellen

17 Nov 2009 – Ken and Barb Haron from Denver area
